New MP3 player

Well, I saw that the Ipod Mini's had been reduced from $249 to $199, so I decided to look into those. Poppy sent me a link from ecost.com that they were on sale for $179 at that site. So I instantly jumped for my credit card and bought it. The Next day i saw buy.com had them for $174 and free shipping, DOH! lost about $10 on that deal. ecost.com does not allow returns on apple products for some reason. Lesson number 1, read all return policys. The new Ipod should be here tomorrow. With my luck it will be the pink one and I will be stuck with all the guys at the gym calling me a girlie man. Lets hope that is not the case.

Another week has past

Well, I am 5 weeks into this now, I really am disappointed that I have not lost more weight. I am still at 196, I have lost inches in my chest and waist, but haven;t dropped the pounds. Looks like my goal weight of 175 is still far off. I posted new measurements for today. mostly the same, but some differneces. Starting week 6 tomorrow.

Harder Workouts

I have put a little more effort into my workouts this week. Making them a little tougher on me. My chest workout on Monday was intense, as well as my leg workout today. I did squats for the first time and they hurt. my legs were shaking pretty good when I left. I am going to take measurements on Sunday, hope to see some progress.

Sunday

Weight day....Well I haven;t lost any weight...but I think I have lost some inches in the waist. We will see. I hope to do some more cardio this week to bost the weight loss. Just remember....Muscle weighs more than fat....

Wed-Fri

Ok...This has been a bad week. I missed a workout on valentine's day, I ate some country fried steak, and my BRAND NEW mp3 player got broken. I did a heavier session of cardio last night to take off the extra calories provided by the country fried steak I had at Folks yesterday. I felt very sick after that. I go to work out last night at LA Fitness, Get on the Eliptical and proceed to do my routine. Everythign is fine, get finished and go home. I plop down on the couch to watch Survivor and Michelle gets home. We watch survivor, Michelle goes downstairs to run on the treadmill I get up and go hop in the bathtub. I am soaking and reading the newest issue of Stuff Magazine with Brooke Burke, when Michelle comes in and says that the MP3 player came unclipped and fell off her and onto the belt, then slammed into the back wall...sheez...Well the clip was pretty much destroyed and is not usable. So if I want to listen to my mp3 player while running or working out it will have to stay in my pocket. I have another MP3 player coming from buy.com because it was cheaper than bestbuy. I guess now instead of just taking the one from buy.com back to best buy I will put mine in theer and take it back. I hope there isn;t an issue with the clip. I my just not put it in there.

Tuesday

Ok.....starting week 4. I actually gained backa pound and a half, so I am back up to 196. I am not to frustrated though, I had a steak on Saturday night and hadn't "released" it when I weighed sunday morning. Yesterday was Valentines day so no gym. Have to take care of the woman. I will be back tonight, with a upperbody workout and a moderate cardio session. I bought a mp3 player over the weekend. I got the Creative Zen Micro. I have really enjoyed it so far. i can already tell it is going to be a pain to catagorize all my music so it is easier to find. I think cardio just got a little bit better. My clothes are all fitting looser, so I know I am making progress.

Missed workout number 2

Ok, I did not have time to get a workout in on Friday, by the time I got home it was time to leave to go meet Michelle for dinner with friends. We went to Dunwoody village to find a Mexican resturant. The mexican resturant we went to find was closed, so we drove back over to roswell road to a place Michelle and I used to go when we lived over there. We ate and talked....interesting conversation actually...I learned quite a bit about what happens at the female Dr. Glad I am a male. Anyway, by the time I got home the gym was closed, so I am going to do a leg workout today and a cardio session. 2 missed workouts this week, I am betting that I will have either gained weight or stay the same. My jeans seemed to fit much better today, so I think I am losing some inches. I will update measurements soon.

Thur-Friday

Got my cardio in on Thursday, Today is going to be tough, Michelle and I are supposed to meet friends in Dunwoody at 7:30 for dinner. I am supposed to have a leg workout tonight, not sure if I am going to make it, unless I go later on tonight. I am starting to see a physical difference in my body, I can tell my face is getting a little smaller, tummy still needs some work, I will measure soon to see if I have lost any inches.

Off Subject

I have been contemplating buying a MP3 player to have while working out. Of course the popular choice is the IPod but I have been looking at the new Creative Zen micro. It seems to be on the same level as the IPod Mini buy with more options. Here are the diferences that I see. The IPod Mini doesn't let the user replace the battery should it go dead. I don't want to buy a new IPod should my battery go bad. The Zen mirco has a built in microphone for recording, also has a FM tuner with the ability to record FM transmissions, not that I would ever need this but an extra feature non the less. Also the Zen will let you partition up to 1 gig of space to use as an external hard drive. I thought this was my biggest selling point. It has 5 gigs of HD space, so even if you partition the max 1 gig you still have the same amount of space as the Ipod mini. I think I have made my choice, even though poppy highly recommends the IPod for its ease of use, I may just have to opt for the Zen Micro.

Fat Tuesday

So tuesday came and went without a workout. This is my first missed workout. I feel bad about missing it. My wife was sick and by the time I got her taken care of and put to bed it was already late. I am going to make up my time today by doing a cardio workout along with my chest workout. I have not been feeling that great either, but I must press on.

Monday

Had a good leg workout on monday. My eating habits are not getting worse, I am just not following the times I am supposed to be eating. I haven;t eaten breakfast at home the past wekk, been having a shake while running out the door. I need to get up earlier. I also need to buy some more waffles and bananas. My pants are starting to fit a little looser, so I can tell I have made some progress even though I may not be able to visually see it yet. Got some more cardio tonight. I programmed the treadmill to do the program so i don't have to constantly change the speed every minute. Works very well. Everything seems to be going good. on week 3 and feeling great. Still motivated.

Thursday - Sunday

Ok, I forgot to update the past few days. Today is Sunday which = Weigh Day and Free day. I weighed this morning and am down to 194.5. I lost 3 pounds since last Sunday. I am going to get my bodyfat taken tomorrow at the gym to see if that has dropped any. I will record my measurements later on today, I don't really have time right now. I have been pretty strict on my diet, we went to the movies last night and got Popcorn and diet coke. I only had a few handfuls of popcorn and a little diet coke. That was the first thing I have drank in 2 weeks that wasn't water. I am still feeling good and motivated to stay on track. I feel am right on track to meet my goal. I am probably going to bumb up my cardio to new max intensities this week. I have been doing 8 MPH for 1 min as my max, but I may bump that up to 8.5 and put an incline to it. 2 weeks down, 10 to go on my 12 week weight loss challenge. I will try to get some pictures up by week 4. 6 pounds doesn't make me comfortable enough to be subject to all that ridcule my friends would give me.

Wednesday

I wasn't feeling well this afternoon so I decided to take a nap when I got home instead of going to workout. I am about to head up to LA Fitness to get my workout in. Good thing they close at 11:00, late night tonight. I think my problem today was I didnt eat any real food. I was late for work and didnt have time to fix anything, So I just did the meal replacement shakes and bars. I had the guiltless chicken platter from Chilis for dinner and I feel better. Later

Week 2

Ok, I started week 2 of the diet....I did an upperbody workout last night at the gym. I did the workout in about 45 mins. It was crowded at the gym so I stuck to the machines instead of the free weights. I am feeling it today so I guess there isnt much difference. I have another cardio session tonight, I think I am just going to run at home instead of going up to the gym. There is way to many people up there around 6-7 at night. I am still on target....I forgot to measure my body fat last night at the gym, so i will have to do it wednesday night. National signing day is tomorrow, I havent heard much about UGAs class this year...hope that isnt a bad thing....Go dawgs...
