I normally don't have an opinion on politics. If you ask me a political question more often than not you are going to get a blank stare pointing right back at you. It just doesn't interest me. My wife however will babble on for hours giving her $1.25 on any issue that she wants to talk about. I think she would get into a debate with the trees in my yard if she really wanted to. I do have an opinion on the Iraqi POWs that were mistreated. First of all I do not think that it was right how these POWs were treated. The United States Military is supposed to be setting an example for the Iraqi people. On the other hand it could be considered mearly "hazing" to quote my wife. I happen to agree with her on this one. After I read comentary/articles concerning the Nick Berg beheading I began to get angry. The United States government is in such uproar over the pow treatment that they are totally missing what is really going on. The video of Nick Berg should remind us that we are at War. People Die everyday in the Middle east defending our freedoms and I thank anything and everything I can thank everyday for the women and men of the United States Armed Forces who are risking their lives so i can do things like type my opinion on this blog with no worrys of being shot and killed. War is the key word here. These Iraqi men were POWs, Prisoners Of War. Not people we are putting up at the Hilton and making sure that they are getting everything they want. They are Prisoners, men who were trying to kill our fellow American soldiers. Log onto Consumption Junction and watch the video of Nick Berg being killed and tell me if it is even in the same ball park as what happened to the POWs. Basically the POWs were humiliated by having to be naked and lying all over each other. If you ask me they had a day at the hilton compared to Mr. Berg. I love my country and what we stand for. I do not agree with what happened to the POWs, I hope the people involved are punished. I just hope that our leaders will stop being so focused on the POWs, and start figuring out how to stop the terriost like the ones that killed Nick Berg. All things considered, its not that terrible what happened to the Prisoners of WAR. just my $0.02. email your opinions to valarious@gmail.com ... this oughta be good.
